Kearfott sensors are designed to perform a range of position and vehicle motion sensing in the harshest environments, and where crew and payload are of the utmost importance. Our Position Sensors are offered as both linear and rotary non-contact devices and can be delivered as frameless components or integrated into higher level assemblies. Options include multi-channel and geared offerings. Coupled with our Data Converters they provide a complete smart sensing solution.

Resolvers
Kearfott offers resolvers as absolute position sensors, used in servo applications as a commutation sensor or for output shaft sensing. The resolution of our resolvers is only limited by the measurement system to which the resolver is coupled. As transformer based devices, with no on-board electronics used to provide position feedback, they provide extremely high reliability. Our sensors are ideally suited for deployment in extreme temperature, radiation, shock and vibration environments.

LVDT
Kearfott supplies LVDTs (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) for a range of aerospace, military, and other high reliability/harsh environment applications. The resolution of our LVDTs is only limited by the measurement system to which the LVDT is coupled. Our LVDTs are used in control surface position applications, pilot controls, and on-engine feedback. Options are available to supply hermetically sealed units for use in fluid/hydraulic applications.

The resolution of our RVDTs is only limited by the measurement system to which the RVDT is coupled. Our RVDTs are used in control surface position applications, pilot controls, and on-engine feedback. Options are available to supply hermetically sealed units for use in fluid/hydraulic applications. Tandem in-line and clustered options are available for redundant applications. Geared options with anti-backlash designs are available to extend the measurement range of the devices.
