RVDT
Kearfott’s Rotary Variable Differential Transformer (RVDT) position sensors use cutting-edge winding, drivetrain and structural materials. They have a long history of in-field success and are commonly used in cockpit controls, flap positioning units, and reservoir transducers. Geared, direct-drive and custom solutions are available.Tandem in-line and clustered options are available for redundant applications. Geared options with anti-backlash designs are available to extend the measurement range of the devices.

Geared
Geared RVDT sensors extend the measurement range of sensors. They are commonly used for applications with multiple revolutions or higher, angular displacements.
Typically, customers use geared RVDT sensors as part of flight control actuators, stand-alone airframes, fly-by-wire systems, brake-by-wire systems and environmental control systems.
Kearfott can customize the gear head to produce thousands of revolutions.
